Contest Rules and Regulations

Contest took place between February 1st thru March 31st 2009, all submissions before or after those dates were not used.


All recipes must be an entrée that takes at least 20 minutes to prepare and no longer than 30 minutes, if the recipe will take longer to prepare, the participant will bring a finished dish for presentation along with all ingredients to prepare a separate dish during taping.

The show will be taped in 4 segments: 1 minute introduction, 7 minute segment, 7 minute segment and a final 8 minute segment during which the last 3 minutes the final product will be plated up for presentation, and participant must be able to come in to the RTN/KDCG TV Studios for a Tuesday 9 AM taping (must be at studios 15-20 mins. prior to taping and the taping usually lasts aprox.30-45 mins.)

Participant is responsible for providing all ingredients used in recipe, and must bring all utensils and pots and pans needed for preparing recipe.
RTN/KDCG TV provides a 4 burner gas stove top (no oven), small toaster oven, (microwave upon request), cutting board, and small set of dishes.

Participant agrees to provide a typed copy of the recipe, which must include ingredients used and all steps to prepare dish, which will be posted on the RTN/KDCG TV website.

Participant must not be a professional Chef or employed as a chef, by any restaurant or food preparation facility, or an employee or family member of RTN/KDCG TV or any of it’s prize providers.

We will pick 10 recipes from online submissions (e-mail), faxes, and mail-in entries. All entries submitted will be considered and our Judges will make the final determination of what recipes will be used.
From the 10 recipes chosen, our judges will pick the top 3 recipes to appear on the What’s Cookin’ show.
All entries picked will appear on the RTN/KDCG TV website as well as being mentioned on our series of special “My Favorite Recipe” Shows, with the top 3 to be posted on the website along with the guest cooking on our TV show.

Participant agrees to the use of their recipe and any likeness (photos, video, etc…) to be posted to the RTN/KDCG TV website as well as any airing of the show or promos to promote the What’s Cookin’ “My Favorite Recipe” show.

Participant agrees to abide by all rules set forth by RTN/KDCG both expressed and implied, and agrees that any decisions made by our judges are final.

Any recipes sent to RTN/KDCG for submission in the What’s Cookin’ “My Favorite Recipe” contest can be used by RTN/KDCG TV on our What’s Cookin’ show and website.

Prizes are provided by our sponsors and RTN/KDCG TV cannot be held responsible if the sponsor decides to replace the prize with another of equal value.

Contest Winners are being picked by our Judges currently, and our Winners will be notified by phone and/or mail or e-mail.
